Positive Images Campaign
Our schools; Notre Dame, Harris Academy, St James the Great and Oliver Goldsmiths have been working hard documenting positive things young people are doing within the community to counter negative stereotypes portrayed in the media.
In November they ran an action on Southwark and Lambeth Police, challenging them on their posting of weapons on social media. They respectfully challenged the Deputy Borough Commander and he committed to posting more positive images and less pictures of knives. They also won a meeting with the Borough Commander and regular meetings with the police to think about the relationship between young people and the police more generally.
